LOVE starts Monday! (not that we don't have it already!)

"The grand essentials of happiness are: something to do, something to love, and something to hope for." ~ Allan K. Chalmers

So, this week ... tell me how you define love. Be on the watch for those "God moments" where love is evident. Look up Scriptures that talk about love and tell me what it means to you. Share your experiences and I'll catch up with you next Sunday to give you my impressions!

Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking.
It is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
I Corinthians 13:4-8

  1. I John 4:7-12 is my favorite scripture on love. The New Interpreters Study Bible says that affiliation with God is the same as affiliation with love, so those related to god practice love. Divine love is a concrete act, therefore, so is Christian love.

We only see the effects of love. If our actions do not demonstrate love, but are detrimental to someone, we do not have love no matter what our words may say.

When someone really listens to my words and the feelings underneath, doesn't advise, isn't thinking about their next sentence, but really hears me, I feel loved.

  2. I agree with Cary:) I also feel loved when I receive a random act of love. Something unsolicited, not needed, just out of the goodness of ones heart, that is love to me.
